What made you make the move to Centrica Energy?
I had a strong desire to work with renewable energy, and Centrica Energy was able to offer what I was looking for, plus the upside of living in Denmark which is great especially with a family!

What does a Head of Quantitative Forward Trading do?
My job consists of mathematical modelling, research and analysis that lead to trading decisions. I also engage in continuous engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, I am a manager, which also gives me tasks within management, handling cross-teams projects, and implementing agile way of working.

What’s your favourite thing about being an Energy Mover at Centrica Energy?
I love how my job is unpredictable, fast and enjoyable. Also, I really thrive when I’m surrounded by smart and interesting people – and that is probably the best way to describe the feeling of being at Centrica Energy.

Can you tell us about an achievement you’re proud of?
Let’s go with the Magna Kanban! CE is not only a place that helps you thrive in your job, but it especially allows people to grow outside of their domain skills. For this reason, I had the chance to help shape a cross-team collaboration and project management tool, that really takes efficiency to another level. And the beauty of it is, it didn’t take long from concept to get people onboard and see it live and functioning!

What’s your best advice for someone wanting to make the move and join the energy industry?
I suggest that you talk to people and get to understand what you like to do and how you thrive, and then make this area your passion. Furthermore, finding a great tutor can really help you in your career – and one day, you’ll find yourself in a position where you can mentor and give something back just the same way.

What should someone dreaming of becoming an Energy Mover know about Centrica Energy?
I had forgotten how fun could be go to work. Now every day is great (including Mondays), the pressure from trading becomes fun and it’s great to share successes and failures with the team!
