Meet Our Energy Movers
Meet Martin Munk Kristensen
Legal Counsel
Department: Legal
Location: Denmark
Employed since: 2022
What made you make the move to Centrica Energy?
I dreamed of working in the energy sector and within an international company with opportunities to grow both professionally and personally – and I haven’t regretted making the move to Centrica Energy once.
What does a Legal Counsel do?
I handle a wide variety of tasks from reviewing, commenting, and negotiating agreements with our customers and suppliers to advise the board and handle any requests, queries, disputes or the like.
What’s your favourite thing about being an Energy Mover at Centrica Energy?
The best part of my job is the variety of tasks. In legal, we handle a wide range of different tasks; from negotiation and creation of power purchase agreements, NDAs, and IT agreements to more general counselling across the business. No days are the same, and I really thrive in this fast-paced environment. I also have to mention my colleagues. I don’t think I have ever worked at a place where everybody wants their colleagues to succeed and contributes to their colleague’s success as much as I have here.
The way we as a company have an embedded culture of wanting the person next to us to succeed in what they are doing is very unique.

Can you tell us about an achievement you’re proud of?
There are a lot of projects and achievements I am proud of, and too many to mention. I think the common denominator is that we as a team managed to find the right solution.
What’s your best advice for someone wanting to make the move and join the energy industry?
Being a good colleague is a prerequisite for any career, but since this is an ever-changing business, it is also important to be open to new ideas and always try to develop yourself.
What should someone dreaming of becoming an Energy Mover know about Centrica Energy?
The way we as a company have an embedded culture of wanting the person next to us to succeed in what they are doing is very unique. From my own perspective, this is my first job within the energy business and I haven’t worked with energy before, but everybody accepted that and wanted to help me understand the energy business and what they do in order for me to be able to help them in the best possible way.
