What made you make the move to Centrica Energy?

In choosing Centrica Energy it was the overall ambition from Centrica to grow the LNG area into a global and relevant LNG player – that really motivated me.

 

What does the Head of LNG Trading do?

I lead a global team in London and Singapore, and our task is to trade LNG (liquified natural gas). In my team we first create and then apply our market view, combining financial derivatives trading, shipping trading and physical LNG trading. My task is to make a profit in a risk-controlled and safe manner. Stakeholder management is a big part of my job, and on normal days, I could be following up on deals, taking part in cross department coordination sessions or meeting external counterparties over a coffee, And of course navigating whatever goes on in the world.

What’s your favourite thing about being an Energy Mover at Centrica Energy?
What I love about my role is that every day is different and there is never a dull moment. Changes in the world can affect my entire schedule at any moment. Like when the Suez Canal was blocked in 2023 or when Russia invaded Ukraine and we had to divert cargoes at the last minute. Anticipating the market moves, devising strategies and being ahead of the market to create business opportunities globally is what keeps me energized. And this is not a cliché. At Centrica Energy we make being constantly updated on the world a priority, facing any changes with fast and clever decisions, that benefit our business and customers.


Can you tell us about an achievement you’re proud of?

Overall, having contributed to Centrica being regarded as a reputable, trusted and significant player in the Global LNG space. Partnerships with clients that have given us access to niche markets globally. I’m also very proud of putting together a team of brilliant and diverse individuals, where knowledge and ideas are shared to extract value.

 

What’s your best advice for someone wanting to make the move and join the energy industry?

Be humble and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Don’t choose a specific career solely for the status or the reward, make sure you enjoy what you do every day.
