As a fast-growing developer of renewable energy projects acrossEurope, European Energy faced an important task: To efficiently manage the balancing of electricity from its expanding portfolio of wind and solar farms in Lithuania.
With the country’s energy system evolving rapidly and grid stability becoming increasingly vital, European Energy needed a partner with the expertise and infrastructure to ensure reliable integration of renewable power.
To meet this challenge, European Energy turned to Centrica Energy. Together, we signed three new balancing agreements covering renewable electricity from both onshore wind and solar assets, marking a significant step forward in Lithuania’s green energy transition.
“We partnered with Centrica Energy because of their proven expertise in renewable energy trading and their ability to deliver reliable balancing services across multiple markets. Their flexibility and deep understanding of the Baltic energy landscape made them the ideal choice,” said Gregor McDonald, EuropeanEnergy.
Centrica Energy will act as the balancing responsible party (BRP) for theLithuanian assets, leveraging its 24/7 market operations and proprietary optimisation tools to manage forecast deviations and ensure compliance with localgrid requirements. The agreements span multiple years and are designed to support both operational efficiency and long-term sustainability goals.
