ReFlex FAQ
-
Wind farms, solar farms, and flexible assets such as batteries and demand-side response can participate, depending on technical requirements.
-
Whether assets can participate in ReFlex is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The primary requirements relate to asset type, location, and technical capabilities. Please reach out to our team, and they will help you find out what's needed to join and guide you through the process.
-
ReFlex supports grid stability by managing the variability of renewables, improves asset owners’ return on investment through new revenue streams, and enables greater renewable penetration by providing essential system flexibility.
-
As a Balancing Service Provider (BSP) we actively support transmission system operators (TSOs) in maintaining grid stability by offering flexibility and ancillary services through a diverse portfolio of assets such as renewables, batteries, and flexible industrial loads.
While a Balance Responsible Party (BRP) is responsible for keeping its own portfolio balanced, as a BSP we also provide system-wide flexibility. We prequalify assets, participate in markets such as aFRR, mFRR, and FCR, and deliver automated dispatch through our advanced optimisation platform and algorithms.

Centrica Energy has a proven track record in delivering ancillary services across multiple markets, and maintains strong partnerships and compliance with TSO requirements. We leverage advanced forecasting and optimisation tools alongside our integrated trading and flexibility platform and algorithms to deliver on our responsibilities. Centrica Energy was the first to prequalify renewable flexibility from solar in Lithuania and the first to provide aFRR services from renewables in Finland.
