Our LNG trading teams operates globally, managing every step of the LNG lifecycle. This includes negotiating long-term offtake agreements with global producers, chartering LNG vessels to ensure flexible and timely delivery, optimising volumes through both physical and financial trading strategies, and managing logistics from the load port to the discharge port to ensure reliability and cost-efficiency. This integrated approach allows us to respond quickly to market shifts and deliver LNG where it’s needed most.

Centrica Energy currently operates LNG trading hubs in the UK and Singapore. These locations allow us to cover all major time zones and access key global markets. 

LNG is essential for ensuring reliable energy supply in regions where other sources are either unavailable or unaffordable. This role is especially important during periods of geopolitical instability or extreme weather, where LNG provides flexibility and resilience to global energy systems.

LNG plays a pivotal role in helping countries move away from more polluting fuels like coal and oil. It acts as a bridge while new low-carbon energy systems such as hydrogen and ammonia are developed. We are actively exploring how our LNG infrastructure and expertise can support these emerging markets.
