Diversity & Inclusion

A place for everyone
We’re building a workplace where everyone feels they can belong, and where every voice matters.
We’re committed to placing inclusion at the heart of everything we do, and we’re not looking for you to fit in with our culture – we’d love you to add to it.
To build a more sustainable future, we need a diverse team with a vibrant mix of thoughts and skills. And we need an inclusive culture, where everyone feels motivated, valued and able to succeed.
Diversity and inclusion defines us
With 40+ nationalities using English as our everyday language, we recognise the importance of advancing a diverse and inclusive workplace - not just as a ‘nice thing to do’, but as the right thing to do. It’s not just something we say, it’s our People Promise #2: We are committed to career development and equal opportunities. Our commitment includes:

Diverse representation
We aim to create genuine diversity in our teams, where experiences are maximised and
contributions are valued.

Equity of opportunity
We strive to ensure that everyone has fair access to opportunities for personal and professional development.

Valuing difference
We foster an environment where colleagues feel welcomed, safe, valued, respected, heard and supported at work.

Our current focus area – gender diversity
In line with the Centrica Group as a whole, our 2030 diversity and inclusion goal is a workforce comprising 14% ethnic minorities, 15% people with disabilities, 3% from the LGBTQ+ community, and 47% women. By the end of 2023, that final figure should be at least 30%.
We are working to make opportunities more equal, and building a more inclusive culture that promotes and values gender diversity. This includes initiatives as:
- Expanding our reverse mentoring scheme
- Changing our recruitment processes, and
- Unconscious bias training.
Moreover, the Centrica Women’s Network promotes development opportunities to give women the skills and confidence to progress in their careers, providing role models to develop and inspire our people to achieve their career ambitions.
